Something Small for Sherkin

Wayy Hayy! It's Friday - I've double checked!
Off to the beautiful Sherkin Island today for a few days walking, talking and relaxing with some bookclub friends and fellow blogger & crocheter Mrs A (check out her lovely WildSherkin Blog ).

I decided on Wednesday night that my wavy blanket was too big a project to bring to the Island so off I went hunting in blogland for a new project. I have some lovely squishy soft purple yarn I bought in France I've been itching to get my hands on. Its such nice yarn I want to wear it properly (not just make ANOTHER scarf - they are multiplying alarmingly and threatening to take over the under-stairs cupboard!).
So here is the pattern link to the Chevron Lace Cardigan.

Dosen't it look lovely? It's been super easy so far and this is where I am after just one evening,
I'll take another photo when the weekend is over and maybe show you some photos of the Island too!

Thank you for visiting & have a great weekend!

Wave Goodbye to Summer

Autumn is truly on the way so I decided to cheer myself up with a wonderful wavy project to keep my fingers busy as the nights close in (and use up some of the yarn stash that is now genuinely threatening to take over the house!).
I have long since been an admirer of the lovely & talented  Lucy over at Attic 24 and she has the best ever ripple pattern with idiot proof step by step directions.
Just look at the results !

I have re-purposed my second Summer beach bag as a yarn bag & we're off !

I'm on the 38th row with a starting chain of 219 so that's um......8322 stitches of wavy fun so far!

My daughter has 'claimed' the finished blanket for her apartment  when she moves away to college ...... that should be in a mere 2 years time
so that's my deadline and I'm sticking to it!

Thanks for visiting! & hope you have a lovely week!

Flowers !! OW!

Obviously I'm a lot less in touch with the seasons than I thought, when the rest of the blogosphere is getting all geared up for Halloween I'm busy making felt and fabric flowers ....

I saw this flower brooch post and from the lovely Megan at not Martha just couldn't resist !
Out came the stash of felt
out came the scissors
out came the tissue box from recycling
& (OW)T came (the beloved's) hot glue gun.....my first time using a hot glue gun and what a disaster!!
Fantastic glueing BUT it dripped on the table,
it dribbled on the floor,
it leaked on my felt,
it splattered on the fabric
& then finally the inevitable happened and it dripped on ME !!! OWWW!!!!
I won't share the intimate details of how blinking sore it was & the size of a blister I gave myself,
but needless to say the HOT Glue Gun is henceforth banned from my arsenal of crafty tools!

Anyway enough of my life threatening injuries for one day, look at some of the flowers I made !!!
featured on saome of the bags I made!
Taaa Daaa!!!!

The first flower on a shoe lovers clutch no 1 option for Mary at Love your shoes

clutch from a repurposed silk shirt i loved and ripped!!
Option no 2 for shoe lovers clutch (no matter what I do I can't get it to turn around the right way!)

and finally a sneak peek at another felt flower I made to compliment my latest bag and the one I will be entering in the Lemon Squeezy Homes Purse Week !

My son gets the results of his first state exams within the hour, fingers crossed ! & thanks for helping me pass the time whilst waiting !

Thanks for visiting !
